FOOD | Set at the resort’s idyllic restaurants. The Islanders Brunch takes diners on a culinary tour of European, Mediterranean, British, Japanese, American and Indian cuisines, as well as live cooking and beverage stations. Islander Brunch is located at the resort’s signature side by side Vespa Restaurant & Brasserie terrace, followed by an afternoon after party at Resort’s Anchor bar.

 

Highlights from the brunch menu includes Northern European classics such as French onion soup, steak tartare, and roasted lamb rack; Mediterranean delights including beef striploin, red Mediterranean tuna carpaccio, wild porcini mushroom risotto; and authentic British classics such as roast chicken and beef with all the trimmings, steaks, and traditional fish and chips.

One of the busiest stations was the fresh fish counter where local and foreign catches were being prepared as sashimi alongside a freshly dressed King crab with citronette dressing. It includes a range of fresh seafood including crab, prawns, fresh oysters, the Sicilian octopus; and the Mediterranean tuna Carpaccio with beetroot was just exceptional.

 

Italian foodies will love the selection of dishes from the hotel’s signature restaurant Vespa including fresh, made-to-order tagliatelle, and the wild porcini mushroom risotto served inside an oversize wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano and a  vast selection of cheeses & charcuterie.

Outside, there was yet more food and an Arabic tent serving succulent grilled lamb and beef, skewers, kebabs, shawarma, and slow roasted Arabic lamb ouzi. Those with a weakness for Asian cuisine one can sample tasty Far Eastern delicacies such as noodles, dim sum, tempura, and sushi from Asian station. If you have any space left, the Islanders brunch offers a small, but perfectly formed, selection of mini deserts and live station for crepes.

 

WHY END THERE? Brunch guests can enjoy complimentary access to the resort’s private beach and pool for the full day. Those that want to carry on the brunch party, can follow to after-party to Anchor Bar as the sun begins to set. Here from 4pm until 7pm, the resident DJ will spin tunes alongside live music courtesy the resident soloist and band.

AMBIANCE | Experience brunch in the fashionably designed interior spaces or enjoy al fresco dining on the sprawling gorgeous canopied terrace overlooking the majestic panoramic views of Arabian Gulf. The venue had a modern sunny bistro feel around it, there were nods to the style of 1960s with memorabilia including a vintage Mini Cooper and Vespa bikes on display as works of modern art.

 

Beachside is somewhere you’ll want to take your time and linger in between courses. Not only their food is great, but the vibes, atmosphere and the heavenly scenic location is something what we would definitely go back for.

ENTERTAINMENT | Take advantage of live cooking stations and a wide choice of international delicacies while enjoying soundtrack of retro hits performed by a live band to keep those energy levels high at the brunch. Let the children enjoy themselves with kid’s entertainment. The vast balcony caters to parties of all sizes with plenty of room for restless tots to run around as well as romantic corners for duos to retreat to.  Finish the day relaxing with the complimentary access to resort’s private beach and pool.
